hi everyone

my betta eats boogers seems to enjoy them immensely. i can tell because he will not spit it out like other food. are they a good source of protein?

in addition to his regular diet of pellet food, he also will eat bread, rice grains (doesnt like that as much), and oranges.

LOL!

I just tried feeding my betta some bread, which he ate and a uncooked aborio rice grain, which he *really* hated.

Boogers...is that what I think it is?...the stuff in your nose?..

Boogers are not a source of protein, they are bodily waste really. They are your bodies trapped germs and dirt that could have harmed you if the "booger" didn't catch them. Feeding this to your betta is asking for trouble.

i don't think i even want to know how you discovered your betta likes boogers. but when you think about what boogers are, i really don't think its good. i mean, they are formed by nasties you breathe in to keep them from getting into the rest of your body basically. think of the germs, the pollution, etc. you could be exposing your betta to by feeding them your boogers........

where do people get ideas like this????? too much time on the forums maybe????
