Yesterday I searched to go how to tell a male betta to a female, and now I think Disco is female.
Here's a picture of the whole betta.
Here's a picture of the whole betta.
It's the light. I just saw the egg spot and also the beard is not showing, yay Disco is a girl! I can add more females in here right? would it be possible to add her to the community tank?Just looking at the ventral fins, looks male to me. Males have wider ventral fins. Also is it just the light/photo angle, or are his scales pineconing?
Egg spot doesn't really show in the pic but ok. Also betta sororities are complicated and can go badly if done wrong, so look into it before you go adding more fish. It's the light. they look a little pinecony....Just looking at the ventral fins, looks male to me. Males have wider ventral fins. Also is it just the light/photo angle, or are his scales pineconing?
Yes I know, I saw it.females have a white ovipositor (egg laying tube).
Well then it's female you just can't see it in this photo.Yes I know, I saw it.
You mean betta.whether it is a female or not, that is a really pretty guppy
One heck of a guppy, I would sayYou mean betta.
Absolutely not. Just because it's female doesn't make it any less territorial or aggressive. Sororities are a controversial idea anyway and shouldn't be attempted by anyone new to the hobby. If it's something you really want to do, make it goal for something in a few years time when you've gained more experience. Some of us have been in the hobby many many years and are still learning....don't rush, enjoy!I can add more females in here right? would it be possible to add her to the community tank?
He's a boy, I think I saw something else because I can't see it now. I showed him a video of himself and he looked about to give the betta(himself lol) what for!Yes I know, I saw it.
Females are just as aggressiveHe's a boy, I think I saw something else because I can't see it now. I showed him a video of himself and he looked about to give the betta(himself lol) what for!
Yes but he's a male, in the post I meant I couldn't see the egg spot anymoreFemales are just as aggressive
Betta are hard wired to fight...end of story. Makes no difference whatsoever which variant or which gender.
She’s a betta but I agree she’s very pretty, nice fish OP!they look a little pinecony....
maybe it is just her coloration
whether it is a female or not, that is a really pretty guppy
i think she has bigger fins for female
if you want to make community tank, make sure she is not aggressive, get a pen and see if she flares or tries to kill the pen
