I don't think you're seeing water spots,you are seeing other fry...there are scratches showing on one pic,but I didn't edit them out because when you submit them to a magazine they prefer to do that themselves.

They are chocolate cichlids

It has often struck me that a fish that could easily swallow an entire batch of fry, let alone a partially grown one which is still smaller then it's own eye, is regarded as a dumb fish. At the same time, a human that bears a large child in percentage terms to it's own body size can be totally negligent, and yet is considered a civilised, sentient being.
