My Benjamin

hi.....im chesterscots other half,andrew ...i thought id share some pics of what i think is a very special guinea pig.

his name is benjamin, and he's whats called a coronet silver agouti,which arent common, we breed silver agouti guinea pigs but have never acheived such a gorgeous colouring until now.

after two years breeding our silvers,this is a top result.lovely and dark silver with just the right amount of ticking,as though its been dusted on him.definately one to enter a show,i hope!

the first pic is him at only a day old, and the second and third is him today at just under 5 weeks old.
in the second pic u can really see the lovely coronet/crest,a marvellously rare near perfect example

Wow they seem to fill out fast! With showing, I'm familiar with fish shows and dog shows. Is showing them more like fish where they remain in one place on a table? I can't imagine walking one around a ring as would be done in a dog show, but I could see where they would perhaps get a hands on by the judge to verify conformation as is done with a dog show.

I love Guinea Pigs. I have a Dalmation English Crested, and a Tri-colour Sheltie, and they are amazing!

hi tolack....when we show the pigs they remain in one place then the examination begins lol

they check absolutely everything thats comensurate with the breed. very competetive too.....ya meet some right idiots.....me and martyn arent much liked cos wev'e won a few prizes and we havent been doing it anywhere near as long as some of them lol.

lovely boy

I was at the NFRSshow at the rivermead center, Reading, yesterday. It's a main event for rats but there are bunnies and piggies there too.

I swear some of the long haired piggies were really wigs
