Ahhhh she's lovely

Looks like she's definitely settling in well :good:

Thanks bloo, and hel.

Hel shes very much a poser and attention seeker. At this minute shes whistling at me, and tut tut tutting for a stroke LOL

Purdy Vix. Glad she forgave you about the vets. First pic i've seen of you aswel.

Ty JJ and Hooli.

Although Hooli, i will book you in at specsavers later ;)

 Gorgeous. She reminds me of my moms African Grey, Mickey, that she had when I was a toddler. He didn't have much of a tail though, he'd pull every red feather he had out. Drove my mom mad. She was so desperate to have him with his glorious tail, but he wouldn't leave it.

Beautiful pics. Good luck with her.

:D

Hi Vix,

She's actually in very good condition. She has done a very small amount of plucking, probably due to boredom, but looking at the condition of her beak (not flaky or anything) she doesn't look to have a calcium defficiency. Just give her lots of attention and toys and she'll be fine!! She's a beautiful girl!!

I've attached a picture of my old rescue Cockatoo Magic, to show you what a badly plucked bird looks like so you can see that your girl really is not plucking badly!! Magic had actually started to recover in this pic so he had a lot more feathers than when he came to me

Oooh, and by the way.. I dont know if she's been DNA sexed but judging by the head and beak shape id say you're almost definately right that she is a girl!

awww your poor birdie, thats sooo sad , she has beautiful colours.

Baby hasn't been DNA sexed, i decided i thought she was a girl and that was THAT lol

 Good guess then!! :D

I actually have a DNA'd female Cape Parrot called Jake, the name stuck and i cant ever thing of "him" as female, so Jake is Jake and she is referred to as HE! The birds dont know what you're saying anyway!!

If you do want her DNA sexed its very cheap (£18 per bird) and all you have to do is pluck a few chest feathers and send them off. You get a result within a few days :D I've had all 3 of my birds done and they all just led on their backs munching on peanuts while i did it  But as i said, it doesn't matter to the bird, so i wouldn't bother unless you're very curious (like me!!) or planning to breed!

And Magic was such a sad case.. He had two broken legs as well poor boy. He's now been rehomed but i had him about a year, he was a lovely bird!! Im pleased to say he grew most of his feathers back :D
