My pregnant female molly gave birth to 22 babies the other day now and i have put the babies in a breeder tank what floats on the top of the water but i was just thinking is that a lot of room for all them cause i dont have a other tank so will they do fine in the breeder tank all is that to small for them.

I raised 55 in a breeder for 2 week's. Then i had to move them becasue there was no room. You molllies will grow to be adults in there, but only 4 or 5 will make it. You really need a new tank or let them go when they are too big for the trap and hope they dont get eaten.

I find in my 16 litre breeder tank the dalmation molly babies i get survive fine with the parents in the same tank and a few other older mollies too. Its well planted and the babies easily dart out of the way of the parents although i have seen them cornered. But i transfer them to a larger tank after a week or two so that they can thrive............

So when can i put them back in the main tank they are only 2 days old.

The difficulty is predicting what other fish attack them as the parents i find arent that interested. I find tetras will hunt babies down and eat them. What other fish do you have.......?

I would leave them in your breeder for 2 to 3 weeks or until you think they are big enough not to be eaten by the community fish. I had 2 endlers eaten by cardinal tetras on monday that were 1 day old. Wrong place wrong time. Ideally you could do with a spare tank in a perfect world. Be lucky
