uXama, if you go to your profile and select the forum options, you can decide how you want to be notified about posts that you make and threads that you start. I find the e-mail notifications irritating because I post so often as a MOD so I leave the notifications turned off. There are about 5 or 6 options that you could select from though. As far as other forums, many have different default settings, and some I find quite irritating because I have trouble turning off the notifications.
