I've finally got my tank setup with almost everything I need, so I thought I'd share some pics. This is all new to me so if you notice anything or have any comments on my setup let 'em fly.

This is the tank a couple weeks ago with the my roomy's freshwater behind it. Koralia 4s, and I'm running a Coralife 220g needlewheel skimmer.

Here's the updated tank with half my live rock, the other half coming soon! The light is only up there for the pic until I get a top for the tank, I started noticing small salt corrosion spots on the reflectors when I left it there for a while. I'm using the Teklight 4 lamp fixture, with 2 blue and 2 white lamps.

This is a shot of the live rock. The aquascaping is temporary . I've started water changes and water testing, the rock still has a little bit of curing to do.

Thanks for taking the time to check this out, I'll definitely be updating this thread as I stumble along in this new hobby of mine.

thats some nicely shaped rock, nice find, how much was it?

Is that Sulawesi rock? Looks like old plating millepora colones :)

I pay $3 a pound here in Atlanta. This stuff is top notch, from Figi or wherever you want it. The owner will order anything for you and he'll make sure it's the best deal in town.

Looks good though.

fiji isn't the best rock out there lol, from what I'm told it's good stuff but the "cheaper" quality. I pay $5 per pound of fiji and $8 per pound of the other one.

looks like indonesianl ive rock to me, mainly cus indo usually comes in weird shapes i prefer it to figian now!

thats just a marketing scheme that stores use to get more money. Its not the location that matters, its the actual quality of the rock. You could take density into the equation, (fiji is pretty good density wise) but im guessing that 8$ a pound was just fiji rock that looked nice and was then called high quality.

I found high quality fiji rock at 3 bucks a pound from my local reef club
