Thnx again to all of those that have commented on my tank.
Before I started on the long journey of fishkeeping I found this forum to be invaluable for information and learning from the experience of others.

I added a co2 unit to this tank after i had planted it and the results were amazing, it seemed to help the cycling too with the nitrite and ammonia spike being very brief before settling down to zero.
The fish seem to love it too.

So when I am ready to set up my 55 gal can I have a little decorating advice?

My eight year old helped pic out decorations for our 20 gal. Gravel isn't so bad as it is black with a teeny bit of teal bit the hot pink & blue plants have got to go once I get alittle extra cash.

Im totally new to this as well as this is my first proper tank. I know this sounds a bit anal but I designed the layout on paper first, where i would put the plants and rocks etc. I wanted it to have a natural flowing design so not only would it provide the fish with plenty of nooks and crannies but so it would also be nice to look at.
I got a lot of ideas from the pics on this site, some of the tanks people have designed are just incredible. I just tried to emulate them. B)
