My 6.5ft Mbuna Aquarium

That's a great link nick. Always nice to learn something new.

So now the question goes back Kingkenny, what do you feed your fish and have you observed this strange method of feeding in your tank, although obviously you don't have invertebrates hiding between rocks do they still carry out the actions. Is it a genetic behaviour?

Yesterday the male was turning fully on his side and pushing his lips through horizontal cracks as described. Very interesting to see.

Generally I feed my fish new life spectrum but these seem to favour a flake that I was given by the chap that gave them to me. They seem happy enough with that at the moment but I'm going to look into the opssibility of bringing in some other types of food which would encourage the behavior a little more.

One of the reasons I got them was to act as 'fry controller'. With the amount of rockwork I'm getting a few Acei fry survive in the main tank and that's not something I want. I suspect the three I'd seen yesterday morning, and who now appear to have disappeared, have fallen foul to the Labrosus!

Oh! I can see the pictures now. My laptop has gone buggie. I like the lips guy. I feed almost all my fish California blackworms from a local supplier harvested from the local rivers. Everyone but the Burundi and the dwarf pets love them. Bet the lippy guys would too. :p

Stunning rockwork that I've seen on another forum and I still like it. Surprisingly I like those lippy fish. I usually go for esthetically pleasing fish but those are really cool not ugly. :good:

Yeah. Sometimes you get something so ugly it becomes endearing. Think that's how I managed to bag the missus :p

 and you mean you haven't part exchanged her in for a better looking model?

I think it's Kenny that's the endearingly ugly one, and the lady who is the catch! Nice one Kenny. ;)
