Any suggestions and or comments? Most likely going to get rid of the clay cave though.

It's a fine tank, although I agree with ridding your tank of the clay pot. Also, if you can, try and add some driftwood or additional caves not only for enhanced scenery, but to provide your fishies with more security in the tank.

It is planted, yes?

Is that a 55 tall because it doesnt look the same proportions that mine does.. just wondering

If it were mine:

I'd put some driftwood in there to offer my fish more hidey-holes.

I'd put a backdrop on the tank so you can see your fish better and also hide your wires, etc..

I'd put some medium size rocks in there and then have the taller plants in the back and the shorter plants in the front.

Oh, and a bubbler.... I love a good bubbler..... and the fish like it, too.

Nice tank and cabinet!!! :good:

There is a piece of driftwood in there. I guess another piece couldn't hurt. It's in the middle of the tank resting on the right side of the pvc pipe behind the moneywort and cherryhedge. I believe it's lightly planted. I didn't buy the aquarium. My friend didn't want it and gave me everything for free. she said it was a 55 gallon.

Thankx Linda B. I forgot all about the background. And now I'm off rock hunting.

Nice tank, A nice plain black background would look great there.
The plants in the middle look a bit unorganised(dunno if u like it that way) id arange them like lynda said.
Yea and a few more nice rock, driftwood ext woldnt hurt.
Overall a nice looking tank i would say.

P.S. just fill the tank to the top, looks a bit empty :good:

Just be sure to scrub any rocks that you find really well in hot water. Let them soak, too, to get any little critters out of any crevices or holes. We live in a town with loads of rock, so I just have to climb up on the back hill to find something interesting.

Can't wait to see any new pics that you post. :good:

What do you have in there for fish now?

Well I'm far from done and just decided to start from the middle and go from there. I know a river where I can find some good ones. Do you have and pictures of the rocks you find Lynda B so I can see if they look similar to the ones I see?

Fish

5 rosy barbs (2 females, 1 long finned female, 1 male, 1 long finned male)
5 congo tetras
1 whiptail catfish
1 clown pleco
6 various cory's
1 golden wonder killifish
1 severum
1 male guppy which is about to go to my other tank

On saturday I'm hoping to trade in my rosy barbs for something. Any ideas what?

you will need to take back the sev it will grow to far aggressive and large for the tankmates. He will eat them. Why not keep the rosies and get a soal of cherry barbs? or female bettas.

I will post pics of my rocks as soon as I can, but it probably won't be for at least 2 days. Don't have any loaded and have a very busy schedule. But will do it for you. Our rocks don't come from riverbeds, although that would look cool, too. I'll have to go down to our local river and take a look-see. Rather, my rocks come form the woods around us. But, now you've really got me in an exploring kinda mood.

As for fish, I'm a huge tetra fan.... I have red eyes, serpaes and black phantom. :good:

Severums aren't as agressive as people may tell you, I've got 2 with my angelfish and all is well, the angles are about half the size of the severums... However, I do recommend removing the severum because if that tank is planted (as I think it is because it looks to be) your plants will never grow. Severums are natorious for eating live plants. Just a heads up for the future.

I know their not that aggressive. I've had mine for about 2 months and it never bothers any new additions to the tank.

And after it eats all the plants, I'll get fake ones and more driftwood.
