Im looking for one more "focal point" fish, either one large one top-mid or large schooling fish, dont really want silver dollars, or pacu or an arrowana

I think the bottom is very heavy. I can't say much cause my tanks are the same. XD Any chances you could cut some of the bichirs out?

My other concern is those particular spiny eels, from all I've read, don't really like conspecifics.
So not sure how those are going to be together, though I know you already have some of them. Aggression may show up as they get older.

If aggression occurs as they grow then ill probably get rid of two tire track eels, and i can probably do only 1 dehezi and 1 nile, and 2 cuveirs and 2 ends, do you think that would be good, and maybe only one synodontis angelicus? And do you know of any big additions for another thing to look at in the tank?
And im probably not going to do any pleco at all, id like to but we'll see.

Do you mean only doing those bichirs, or cutting 3 delhezis down to 1 and so on? Sorry :p

I don't know anything about the synodontis unfortunately. I was going to get a striped raphael but decided to cut it out due to I likely wouldn't see it and wanted more room for the bichirs. Which I don't have yet :/

How big of an addition are you looking for? Leopard ctenopoma are gorgeous and get to a decent size.

Something I forgot to mention before was you don't want a pleco as most of them go after bichirs for some reason. D:

Yea cutting them haha, and does the leapord act like a leaf fish, or does it swim around?

Could i get those dwarf snakehead? or are they a species only type of fish?

Snakeheads are illegal in all of the US.

The leopard ctenopoma..I havnt had any but in vids they look like they swim around. They were swimming around in the display at petsmart too.

Most of this is from what I've read while researching for my tank, have not had firsthand experience yet unfortunately :(

Yikes so no snake head, ill look into the leopard ctenopoma, i wanted like 3-4 asain leaf fish but i think they dont grow big enough.

Heh yeah :c Shame, I'd really like one too but that won't happen.

Did you mean asian or african leaf fish? Did you mean THESE? They do stay pretty small and are hard to feed.

Leopard ctenopoma get 6-8", HERE is more info on them. They look better too IMO. If you want more than one make sure you add them together.

*Edit* Oh so there is an asian one too :p I think they might be difficult as well though? Sorry don't know anything about them as have always been more interested in the leopard ctenopoma

Yea they are hard to feed haha ive had one for i think a lil more than a month now, hes pretty much on just live, but starting to take bloodworms finally. And are they territorial to new leopards is that why all at the same time?
Well those kinda look like the asian leaf other names for it is nandis nandis.

theres mine

Very cute, that is great you've got it on bloodworms now! I bet that took a lot of time and patience.

Yep I got confused cause I havn't really read anything on the asian leaf fish, just the african. And even that I had barely read anything

Yes the leopard ctenopoma get territorial so that is why you add them a the same time :)

Definitely following this topic, sounds like a great project.  300 gallon tank is the next size I want, though it's going to be quite a leap from my little 65 gallon :p

Now I'm off to convince my Mom that it won't actually raise the electricity bill that much

Cool ill have the project up and running in a few months, and haha it wont raise it that much... if you just had the 300 gallon it really wouldnt, just 3 heaters, 1 FX6 canister, and 2 lights, for me.

Sweet, looking forward to it!

Haha my Mom got rid of my clothes dryer and TV to lower the electric bill, so to her it would! :p
