Tank has been setup about 6 months. Plants have been moved/added/deleted about 3 times til I finaaly was satisfied. It's still not perfect but it's a start. The Glosso was just added about a week ago after I got rid of my Riccia carpet. The rosy barbs wouldn't leave the riccia alone and were tearing it up. That stuff can get messy. I'm still pulling out pieces of it here and there. I can't wait til the glosso carpets. It's already sending out runners (not in these pics though).
30 gallon, Eco-complete substrate, Fluval 204 filter, 2 Hagen bubble ladder systems, 175 watt Metal Halide bell pendant from Hamilton Technology, Fert regimem is the Seachem dosing chart.

Stunning tank! It's really, really beautiful. I love the little baby moss balls. (Can plants be cute?)

Thanks for the compliments. Those moss balls aren't as small as they look. They're all the size of a golf ball except the smallest looking one. I try to keep them stacked together but they move around on their own when they pearl heavily. That gets a little annoying but they are pretty neat to look at.

The moss balls do not just fall apart if that's what you mean. They hold together quite well. I did split one of them giving me the smaller ball that you can see in the front of the tank. The only thing you need to do with these is give them a good squeeze (like you do a sponge) when you are cleaning your tank because they can collect debris that floats around. You can rinse them off in the old tank water. They feel pretty firm and somewhat dense when you sqeeze them. A fish has to really take a good yank at them to be able to pull any of it apart. Trust me my rosy barbs try often. I've read that moss balls can last for decades in the right conditions. Imagine an aquarium plant that you can pass down to your kids.

how good is that ecocomplete substrate?
i was thinking of getting some for my new tank :)
