Today started my project 260L tank project.

Started planning out the tank partitions for the different substrates.
I shaped the perspex based on my rough sketch.

Tomorrow I will move the substrates into the tank once the marine silicon dries.

Started adding the substrates today and found out I didn't have enough.

So I'm off to the hardware store.
Dont know where im going to put the rocks yet, or the driftwood.

How are you keeping the sands separate? I'd love lighter sand or gravel pathway in mine.
I cut up some perspex sheets which I then sanded down and attached to the bottom of the tank with marine silicon.

I would recommend 20mm width on your cut as I ran out of substrates and had to go buy more.

All the substrate is down, so its time to prepare the rest of the decorations and plan out what plants to include in my tank.

Tank update
Last week I noticed my PH had dropped to around 5. So I asked my father how to fix it, and he bought over some soda ash. Needless to say the water ph went to 12 and started to become soapy.
I had to do a full water change to get the PH back.

After the complete water change ive been doing 25% every 2 days to cut down on the yellow colour of the water.
This yellow colour only appeared after the PH screw-up so I think it might have caused the drift wood to degrade.

Yesterday my enhanced interrogation kit arrived. 20201027_100322.jpg
AKA aquascaping tools.

I planted the first few plants into the aquarium. 20201027_101026.jpg
I put some java moss onto the rocks and wood, as well as planting my 2 baby anubius plants.

I also got ahold of some dwarf tears so I've planted 3 mats around the black flourite substrate.

I went to my LFS yesterday and got about 80usd of plants.
I started planting the new plants immediately after doing a water check.
All my parameters are stable.
while planting I kicked up quite a bit of dust.20201028_153505.jpg20201028_153457.jpg

Tomorrow I will send pics once the water has settled.

Went and got Corys and amano shrimp to start populating the tank. I also picked up a gh booster because my well water system is using rain water and there no minerals in it.20201127_121325.jpg
I acclimatized my corys and they are so happy now.

This looks like a kool DYI project , Did you built the tank yourself using acrylic sheets cut to order?
