I've been not liking the way my 25 gallon has looked for a while. :/ It needed something...more.

When I got the Bristlenoses, I knew I needed driftwood, and I have had a piece soaking for a while now. Then I decided I wanted some rocks...but they are pretty expensive if you buy them. Then it dawned on me...the city is doing construction right in front of our house to extend our dead-end road...so I went rock hunting. :fun:

After playing around with everything I finally got it to where I am satisfied...and I know the fishies are thrilled...they are loving exploring their new surroundings, and everyone has their own little place to hide out if they want to.

First I will show you guys what it used to look like...

This is when I first set it up...it was too open for my liking...not enough stuff. :fun:

Then it turned to this. I moved plants around and added two more pieces of slate to make a rock cave.

...and now...

Here are a few more angles...

The rock caves. I used the existing slate and the rocks I got from outside to make a series of caves for the Corys and the Yo-yo and Clown Loaches.

Then I added this neat piece of driftwood for the other side for the Bristlenoses to hide in...the Clowns like it too.

And then a closer picture of it all together.

Thanks fufanu360! Wow, I actually got a tank in the competitions! I'll wait till next month to put in it though...this months is already waaaayyyyy too overcrowded. ;)

I was kinda working on a budget when I did this tank (hence me 'borrowing' nature's rocks  ) and I really am happy with the way it turned out. Everyone now has their own little place in the tank.

Looks ALOT better now :D

And no they are all fake plants, but they still look quite nice as you've used them tastefully :)

:hyper: That looks wonderful Arashi! You did a fantastic job!

I can see the little Clown Loaches exploring their new home!

:) I have a bunch of rocks for my 29 gallon tank when I decide to give it a new makeover. Unfortunately, the peice of wood I found wouldn't sink. I weighed it down with some rocks and soaked it for weeks, but it just kept on floating. I guess I'll have to look around for another peice of wood at the pet store. :p

Wood sure is expensive.
I've never had problems sinking it though.

neway, great lay-out! Did you know they have plastic riccia and glosso now for the foreground?
