Looks not bad, I dont like the white gravel though. Do you have a larger tank for the ghost knife as it grows? I lost my ghost recently (had him nine years) and I was quite shocked to find he measured 14" long. Also you have some non aquatic plants in there.

Sorry to be a bit of a negative nancy

i think your tank looks awsome m8 really nice well done i actually might steal some of your ideas for my own tank hope you dont mind lol :p

Thanks for your comments Mr. White, please steal all the ideas you can :)

I know what you mean about the white gravel and I would love to change to sand as I am sure my fish would prefer it a whole lot better but I am not really sure what the best way to go about it is as I dont have a second tank.

If anyone has any ideas please do share them.. I do have a bathtub I could put them in.. :) Only kidding!

The ghost knife fish will find a nice home if he gets a little too big but I love watching him.

T, how do you mean non aquatic plants?

tank looks great btw, and be carefull if the kribs decide to pair up.

lovely aqurium and i like the desgin i wish you could get a pic of the black ghoast knife fish i love them but never had a bigger enough tank :good:

Not sure I agree with you Paul, rule of thumb is that you can have 1cm of fish per 1L of water. Since I have 200L of water, I should be able to stock around 200cm of fish (that is exclusing the tail)
If I measure the fish I have roughly in cm I am not up to 200 yet.
Even though I am new on this forumn, I do kind of know what I am doing, plus I also was a volunteer in the zoo aquarium so gained a lot of knowledge there. Thanks for the tip anyways.

Altogether you are looking at over 400cm of fish. You need to stock according to their potential adult size, not the size you buy them at.
The general rule for stocking also applies more to smaller slimmer bodied fish, not all types.
The Silver Shark needs to be in a shoal and will eventually need a bigger tank.
The BGK will also need a bigger tank.
Clown Loaches are the same and also need to be kept in groups of 5+.
Although your tank may be fine now, you may find some small fish disappearing as some of the others get larger.

Thanks for the reply stang1 although I am pretty capable of knowing how crowded my tank is and at the moment its absolutely fine. I have planned to get a second tank at some point.
Also looking to find another home for the clown loach and the silver shark eventually when they grow bigger. They are doing fine by themselves and their partners mysteriously died so I never got them a new partner. Also Clown loaches are greedy and create carnage by eating all the plants and I dont like that. I will need to find him another home at some point.
Anyways I will be posting some more pictures. Thanks for all the comments.

REST IN PEACE my peark gourami. Yesterday the gourami pictures by himself on one of my pictures had died, poor fella. I will miss him as I had him for over a year.

He looked pretty weak and he had his fins nipped by someone, not sure who.

OK, pretty new at this but how do you get the flower pots to sit at that angle? Are they just sunk in the gravel?
