My 1St Attempt At Breeding

Sounds like you may both have a couple of gay males there  Come on boys,- we are all desperate to see some action here! :good:

So cool :D
its my first time breeding bettas too- doing it with a butterfly halfmoon similar to yours, but its more of a greenish blue (not evenly spread out), wish i had a female as beautiful as urs :D :D :D ...

mine took about one and a half maybe two weeks to mate! i had the female in a jar as well and he built a small nest and slowly added to it each day... when i released the girl they didnt flare or anything they just checked each other out and were prety peaceful so i let her stay under constant supervison... next say the bubble nest had doubled in size but she seemed uninterested... he kept adding to it until the nest covered HALF a ten gallon tank! im not exagerating lOL...even so she seemed uninterested.... until finally after days of not seeing anything it just hapened!

be patient it will eventually happen--- just make sure their not fighting :)

This is a great tale to hear as it will put a few people's minds at rest,- so thanks for that! :good:

Really keeping fingers crossed for this spawn and hoping to hear some good news soon :D

well I may have give up too soon, but i moved tilly back into her jar last night. The nest had again been destroyed with the chasing.(unless Thai or tilly destroyed it) Tilly has lost about 3/4 of her tail :( so i thought it be best to remove her.
This morning there has been no nest built (Thai builds over night normally) so this attempt has unfortunately been unsuccessful :(

I will be trying again but i think ill try a different female, my back up opaque Wisp

Best of luck to lilfishie and hope it works out for her 2 pairs :D

so sorry to hear things haven't worked out  I really wanted to see what they'd produce as they are both so gorgeous  Best of luck hun with attempt number 2! :D

just a little advice please stop your urge to look at them so frequently.. it makes the male a little bit paranoid so he starts to become an egg-eater.

Cover the tank sides with black carton and also the top :)
