Que?

WOW you have quite the eye for setting up a tank.  The fish, wood, gravel all go together so well.  Mine looks comical now that I see this haha

Like the Pleco's too....

exactly what type of fish is that? the one in the second picture..

Love it, looks just like a photo underneath a river bank!

Little update.

All plants died because of a failing heater. Was heating up to 32 degrees. Luckely all fish survived.

De Acarichthys Heckelii's are gone, sold them to a guy with a very nice home for them. Also i sold de L014. Very beautifull fish, but he was wrecking everything in the night and in the day you never see him.

Ordered some new plants. I expect them today and tomorrow.

Pterygoplichthys Gibbiceps (L083 Sail Fin Pleco/L165 Gibby)
I love the "normal" Pleco species. They are very busy the whole day, you always see them, awesome mad look and they are friendly as hell.

This is how my tank looks now. Boring as f*ck haha

Looks beautiful! What are your water parameters? As far as I can see u keep soft and hard water fish together which cannot be good for all.

Thanks hobby5

I have the color sticks. Dont know the parameters exactly. But all colors match whats on the box 'good'.

yeah but all fish are on the same water in the store and the breeder. Everybody is looking at the parameters (on websites) of the water which they swim in the river or whatsoever. But at the breeder they arent on that kind of water anymore. Many years of breeding on "normal" water (which we drink) messed up that parameters which the websites tell us. So to be honoust, you actually cant tell anymore which parameters the fish are used to. But my fish look great and healthy and swim with normal behaviour.

It is a myth that fish have adapted to any water parameters in captivity. There are very few species for which this holds true, but this is a tiny minority. Which species have been breed in captivity for decades? It is still impossible to  breed rams or cardinals in hard water successfully. So the breeders adapt the water to the needs of the fish. Yes, in the store they all swim in the same water, but this is supposed to be temporary. And if fish are ekpt in the wrong water their life span is shortened significantly even though they might look good and healthy in the beginning.

You believe your story and i believe mine. I had fish for a long time and i know that there is alot of bullshit in the world about the fish we have to keep in the right parameters of water. Because it hasnt to be 0.0 straight whats on the websites. a little different doesnt matter for the fish.

Thats all im gonna say right now.

If you want to make a discusion about this, go to a discussion topic. This is a foto album.

Sorry if I disturbed you. I was only trying to help. I totally agree with you that a little difference doesn't matter and there are many factors at play but keeping GBR, which need very soft water for a long and healthy life and rainbow fish which are adapted to hard water in the same tank can simply not be good for both. I will leave it at this.
