My 15 Gallon Tank

yes i think i can confirm you will need to improve your lighting as said above you need to get blue acintic bulb to start with then think what type of corals your goin to keep soft corals will do fine under t5 blue, white tubes hard corals might be better under a metal halide unit but good start :good:

A bit of threadnomancy but it's my thread so I hope its ok :good:

I've spent a lot of time on my tank. I rearranged the rocks, got rid of my hood and bought some new lighting.

My set up here.

This little guy had my sand cleaned in a day! He also takes frozen marine mix so I don't have to worry about him starving. In between meals he still cleans the sand like crazy too.

A better picture of my two clowns.

My next upgrade is more clean up crew and some corals. Not sure what exactly. I've just bought the lighting and now to start my researching. My clean up crew is quite small. Any recommendations appreciated. I've got two scarlet hermit crabs, one blue hermit, a turbo snail and an odd snail with a snorkel that burrows under the sand. The name escapes me. Hehe.

Looks good so far :good:. The burrowing snail is likely a Nassarius or a Conch.

As for cleanup crew additions, look into more cerith, and trochus snails if you can find them.

If I may suggest, buy some green star polyps and glue them to your powerhead. Will hide it nicely over time :D

Lol, great idea. I never thought of that. May be hard to clean the pump out though.

A shot of my snail as he came out for his tea tonight :)

Eh, if you have to you can pull the GSP off and glue them back on :D

For aesthetics, is it possible to surround your pump with live rock?

Sure, but remember, sooner rather than later that pump will need to be cleaned/serviced. I tried hiding powerheads under rocks once. Was a PITA when it came time to clean them :(

Because of where the skimmer is, I can't really fit it anywhere. Its so big since the skimmer is rated for 150 gallons. This is a test tank so when I get my larger one the skimmer will go on that one instead and I'll buy a smaller one, which should need a smaller pump so be less of an eye sore if I keep both tanks running that is :) The pumps really big but it was free so I can't complain.
