Put together this 10 gallon today for my betta, Cosmo. 💖
At the moment some of his new tank mates are getting settled before I introduce him to his new home.
Cosmo’s current home is a planted 5 gallon with a dozen fire cherry shrimp who we’ll also be moved to the 10 gallon.

This tank will be stocked with
Cosmo (betta)
8 neon tetras (currently settling in)
12 fire cherry shrimp
1 peppermint bristlenose pleco

Plants
Annubius
Java fern
Wisteria
Mermaid weed
Hygrophila polysperma 'Rosanervig'
Monte carlo
Moss
Duck weed
Red root floaters

Heated and filtered
No co2 low-medium light (it’s built in. I might get a stronger one)
Water is a bit murky from the substrate- Fluval Betta Stratum
First time using a soil substrate
Filter media is from a cycled tank

Do you recon that’s fully stocked in terms of fish? Maybe some more tetras?
Any other recommendations on additional stock or plants?
I’ve never done a carpeting plant any advice?

Really nice looking tank I love the wood and the betta , but long term don’t keep a Bristlenose in here. They need 20 gallon long minimum long term and a 10 gallon is not big enough unless you have intentions of moving him to another tank. You are fully stocked when you remove the bristlenose.

Update!! It’s all done and everyone is settling in well.
We have Cosmo the betta, a small school of 8 neon tetras and around a dozen cherry shrimp 💖

10g is better than 5g but neon tetra need swimming room - 80cm tank minimum. If you rehome them it will be more appropriately stocked.

Additionally betta prefer their own company so no other fish. The shrimp may survive as he has lived with them already, but another betta may eat them.
