hi guys, yeah the question is basically the title haha, is it essential for one coral in a 2.5gallon marine tank to have a protein skimmer? I am going to add calcium boosts and some other buffers, also the 2.5g has extremely bright light.

2) if a water enchancement / nutrient product for the saltwater tank contains copper, is it a problem? cause i have a freshwater shrimp tank and i know that you NEVER put anything that has copper into shrimp tanks.

thanks :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

Copper is a big NO NO in marine aquaria. Never use Copper based additives or medications in a marine environment
No... it's not essential to have a Protein Skimmer installed for one coral. Some coral sp dont take too kindly to having a lot of skimming due to it drawing out certain properties for which that specific coral needs to adapt and grow.

is a protein skimmer neccesary for a tank with saltwater fish.

If you start a thread in the Marine Fish section, listing the fish that interest you sayur, along with details of your tank (hardware used, size, what you plan to test for {if anything} e.t.c), you will get a better response than you will here, as the fish nerds tend to spend more time in the fish section than the hardware one ;) Also, you don't hijack someone elses thread :good:
