Multi tank syndrome- how quickly do you succumb

I only have two, and a few fish bowls. and I had to battle with my animal hating family to get all of the pets I have now (3 cats, a dog, a hamster, 4 bettas, ADF's, a cockatiel, and a leased horse.) If I even say the word fish my parents freak and start screaming at me. It will be a joy to tell my dad about my plan for a new tank

It's a rarity for an aquarist to only have one tank. The most I have ever had at any one time was 100 of various sizes ranging from 8"x8"x8" up to 48"x12"x15". This was very time consuming and became a chore so I'm trying to limit myself to around 30 these days.
