Recaped the tank today. Added some more shells

Had to see what this meant.
 
Will the shells all stay their colors?

The fish are Multis, a small shell dwelling cichlid
 
The shells will stay these colours for a very long time, they may fade eventually. (the calcium does get taken up by the water eventually, this can cause the shells to break down)

Reminds me of Barnacle Blennies in SW, who live in barnacles.
 
I wonder if the shells are up in the rocks, if the fish will still find them.

Update: Most of the rocks have been removed to make more room for some more shells, the colony is growing (yay yay)
