If you own a mudskipper could you please post a photo of your tank set-up?

I'm planning the materials needed and inhabitants and floor plan. I'm not getting one for quite some time, but I want to get started on figuring out what I need to buy and what environment I want to create.

Also I've seen mudskipper tanks with a F8 or GSP in the water...correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the water in those tanks too shallow? Especially considering how large they grow to as adults? What are your opinions/experience?

There is one book at Barnes & Noble that shows a tank set-up for mudskippers that includes a type of anemone, fiddler crabs, and puffers. From my experience, my puffers will eat any crabs I put in the tank... someone shed some light on this concept!

I would like to create an environment, rather than simply putting sand and water in the tank, ya know?

I think this thread should go into the brackish water section of this forum, so maybe it can be moved :)

I'm afraid I cant help you with the mudskippers, and if you'll be able to keep puffers in the same tank really depends on the size of it. If you can make different levels of water and sand, and the deepest will be as deep as your average aquarium that you need for puffers that big, I'm sure they'll be fine. Youll need a very big tank to set it up like that though

Keeping crabs and puffers together, most crabs do indeed end up like a snack. However, there are some puffers as well (it depends on their personalities) that simply dont even look at them. You just gotta take your chances and be lucky I guess :)

Sometimes I have no idea where to post. I made a puffer post once and they moved my thread here. I figured I'd beat them to it. Agh!

I didn't think the puffer/mudskipper idea was feasible. I wonder why that book said that...it was a neat book, but clearly pushing the wrong information out. That sucks.

Thanks though!
