I've had my snails for maybe a couple of weeks. I know it's still soon but I'm pretty impatient and I love these snails-when should I expect to see some babies?

Depending on how much they're eating , soon or sooner , don't worry you should start seeing babies anytime now ,They start out real small , you may have some already , ya never know .

i'll bet heavily that you already have em, they are ultratiny as babies, smaller than pond snail eggs and they only come out like 7 at a time, but the first batch will probably come out when the snail is abut 1/3rd of an inch long if well fed, and they never stop after that.

i heard that MTS were livebearing snails, which is pretty cool, cuz u dont have to wait for eggs to hatch! lol

---thinking about getting ramshorns and breeding them-----

I looked and don't see any babies but maybe they're in the gravel. I have to say, if any babies are in there they HAVE to be in the gravel because I stare into my tank for hours at a time (I have 3 kids, what can I say) and I probably would have seen them. I have spotted the round snails at around the size of a pencil dot plus I find egg clutches all the time (my kids do too-they're great at spotting little things in the tank).

They're burrowing snails so the odds are the babies are in the substrate. I started with a dozen and now have several dozen. I see the smaller ones all the time out of the substrate which is supposedly a sign of something wrong but everything checks out and only three snails have ever died in there (two ponds and a ramshorn) so give them time and you'll likely see them coming around soon enough. :)

I have MTs in my tank and the only time i found babies was when i needed to clean the gravel thouroughly (long story) so i was picking out the snails as i found them form 6 snails i found about 30 and i have them breeding in a small 2.5 gallon tank with a sand substrate and i see the babies on a regular basis then!!

3 Kids , I hear ya  :S , but be patient , before you know it you'll start seeing them .

I put some big ones in my tank on january 20th and I've noticed babies about 2mm long in the last couple of days.

No babies that I can see yet. My big tank has darker gravel so it might be harder to see them. Plus those snails stay hidden all the time-even after lights out I have trouble finding them. I know of 2 right now but who knows where the other two are.

My small tank has very light gravel so I would think I'd be able to see at least some. I have 8 MTS in there but maybe they aren't big enough yet to make babies. I am seeing tons of round snails though...

You shouldnt worry, youre sanils will have 100s of babies. Mine did until I got my clown loaches. :p

I found 2 baby MTS tonight-they're a little less than 1/4" long so I guess they've been in there for a while. They're very cute. yay!!

eta: I've been sick for about a week so I haven't been looking at the tank as much as normal, otherwise I probably would have seen them before today.

My tank has lots and lots of cute baby trumpet snails now! I love it! When they get big enough I'll take a few to the lss. I have 4 trumpet snails in my 20 gallon also and found some babies in there tonight. yay! :D
