Hey all,
I'm getting ready to transfer my huge Sailfin Pleco to his new tank. But, the two nets that I have for the old tank are not nearly large enough to encase him. If I put them together, one would fit over the head and neck part and the other would probably just fit over the fan of the tail. Should I make a net or just grab him or what? I don't really have any more funds left with the new tank and all. :S

thanks for any help,
Valerie

I had to catch a massive pleco once and admit i didnt want to handle him. So i netted his front end and held his tail with my hand

:p the best way is to use a plastic sandwich box, and just tempt him into it then lift out, that way he stays in the water in the box and no chance of him getting tangled up on the net.

AKA washed out ice cream tub :)

Not that triangle clear packaging you get your sandwiches in :p :p

I find it easier to just put my hand in and pick them up, not everyone cup of tea but it easier than trying to intice them into a net when tey get big and they easy to handle . good luck
