Hello there,
I'm looking for some advice. I'm moving house in 2 weeks and i'm moving 150 miles away. Can anyone tell me the best way to move the tank and the fish safely to my new address. I'm not sure the best way to transport them without stressing them too much, and I'm worried about how to keep their water warm enough during the 3 hour journey
I'd be extremely grateful for any help.

moving fish i doing that in march its easy! first off go to your local pet store and ask for some of their poly boxes that they get thier fish in when they order them! depending on how many fiosh u have and how big the boxes are then you may need a couple of them! get some bags and saome elastic and then ship them in the boxes, thye should be able to help you. you will also need to get some contaniers for shipping at least half of the water from your tank. as it stop u form recycling the tank and not kill as many fish!

hope this helps! if u get stuck ask in here or i am sure ur lfs will be able to help as well!

good luck!

Also heard about battery operated air pumps, those maybe help a little ?

Thanks for the advice. Went to my local shop today and got 1 box. I only have about 12 fish so that should be ok shouldn't it? I've been told to make sure theres loads of oxygen in the bags. Do you think a battery operated air pump is a necessity? I don't have one at the moment

Thanks for that. I went to my local shop today and got a box. i only got 1. That should be ok for 12 medium fish shouldn't it? I've been told to make sure there's loads of oxygen in the bags. Do you think that the battery operated air pump would be make a big difference? I don't have one at the moment.

if u have a normal air pump just half fill the bag with water and then pop int he tube and fill it up with air then place them in box! unless u can get ur local shop to fill the bags with oxygen for you!
