Okay, what's the best technique to move my fish???
I have 6 platys, a pleco and a 5" goldfish in my 20 gallon.
My boyfriend also has a 48(?) gallon with cichlids that we will also be moving. We do have a little 2.5 gallon tank that we possibly could set up? What would be the best way to do this? I don't want to get rid of my fish!
Thanks in advance!

you could bag each one in their own bag with a good amount of water. If you put them all together they will use up eachothers o2 and pollute the water fast. If you could do 3 small fish per bag.

Don't feed them for 2 days before the big move so they don't pollute the travel water as bad. Make sure they stay warm so keep the car hot.

Good luck make sure your filter medim stays wet so it will be ready to use right when you set the tank up.

travelling in the car should be ok if fish can go overnight by royal mail, so really your car for an hour and a half is luxury! (just remember to float!)

put all your fish in their own bags.. i learned big fish fit very well in the large ziplock bags.. get a cooler ready and place them all in it (this will keep the water temp from spiking or dropping)
make sure when you bag them to give them plenty of water so as to dilute any waste they make during the trip

also make sure t keep your tank up and running until the last minuet i would bag the filter cartridge and bio wheel if you have one in some aquarium water (remember your benificial bactieria is alive as well and if your filter dries up you culture will die) if you keep your filter alive you should have no problem when you have to set up your tank again, you should have no reason to cycle your water again if you do it this way

ive moved several tanks using this.. never lost more than a small fish.. good luck!!
