Bought 3 Rummy nose from fish store. Had disease that killed them and the neons who were in the quarantine tank…must have somehow cross contaminated to my 55 gallon and lost most of my small fish…emptied tank and moved survivors into a 20…now ready to move them into a 30…have Guoramis (5) , rasboras (10) and silver tipped tetras (2). How many can I move at a tIme? New tank is ready. This has been an awful experience. feel terrible about the loss of my fish. Now have separate everything’s for each tank.

Hi, so, are all the survivors together now, or in separate tanks, waiting to be moved together to the bigger one? Sorry, didn't quite catch the drift of your post

More information/data will help us sort this out.
How long have you had the various fish? Did you cycle the aquarium, and if yes, how? Do you have live plants?
If you can take tests, what are the numbers for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate? Also the pH? What is the GH of your tap water?
Assuming you use a conditioner, which brand? Are any other substances/additives entering the tank(s)?

Welcome to TFF. :hi:

Survivors are in same tank (20 gal) waiting to go into 30 gal tank. Started new tank using quick start and Aqua Safe Plus conditioner. It is a week out and all test strips come out good. Just need to know if I should stagger their move into new tank.

I’ve had most of the fish for a year. I clean my tanks and do water changes every week. I have live plants. I started the new tank with Quick Start and Aqua Safe Plus Conditioner. Also took a filter from a running tank and put that in too,, It has been up a week now and test strips come back good. When I move the fish from the 20 to the 30 I will move the plants. I have a 55, a 30 and a 20.. 20 not shown. I have always believed myself to be a responsible fish owner.

Thanks for clarifying. I'd say move them all together. That way they keep/get their pecking order squared away from the start and you don't have to deal with more issues than you've already tackled.

I agree. I would however move the plants you intend moving first. You may want to do a water change after planting, and this is here better before the fish move over.

I had 6 rummy nose tetras and they all died within the first week.
