i have an albino channel catfish very small, i thougt i would move it into the tank with mbuna cichlids, do i just float the bag, its used to cold water but heard they can thrive and grow more in heated tanks, i want it to grow a few inches then it can go in my pond.
so can i just add the channel cat to my tank? its currenly in 5 degress and mbuna tank is 27 degrees??  do i just float it for half hr and slowley mix the water in.

The fish will need heck of a lot longer than 30mins to adjust to a 22C temp increase, the shock would kill it more than likely!

When raising tank temp for Ich to ~30C, the general guideline is 1C increase per hour maximum, so you are talking at least 22 hours of tiny thermostat increases.

But how big is the catfish now and how big is its current tank (dimensions not volume)? How big is the Mbuna tank (again dimensions)? On the face of it this seems like putting the catfish through a massive temp increase stress to then need the reverse process to get in ready for the presumeably outdoor pond.

catfish is 3-4 inch at present outside in pond 5 degree winter

, its very cold so not growing ,  the mbuna tank is 1 metre long.
just wanted the cat to grow a bit quicker, not really feeding...

There are pond heaters you can get, but I think they're more intended to stop the water from freezing than really maintain it at any kind of heat.

Most fish don't grow very quickly.
