Okay thanks wilder. My tap pH is 7.6 at the moment but you said to leave that alone. Hoe long should I give Maracyn and Maracyn 2 to her? When should it be compleatly cleared? Thanks

Would it be possible to put her in a two gallon tank? I read that the smaller the tank the better. But then what would I do about her meds?? Thanks

Right we have to be careful as there is a big difference in ph, the meds have altered your ph, so do a gravel vac when collected the water run it through a net to get rid of the waste material and add the water back to the tank, once youve done that remove 15% of the water out of the tank and add new water declorinated to the tank, we don't want to alter the ph to much as it will send her in to shock.

Once you done that add the meds back, only do small water changes on the tank as the ph as altered and it's best to do small water changes or we could lose her to ph shock.
Give her the next dose to see how she goes then we will go from there.

Also post water stats in ammonia,nitrite,nitrate.
Sounds like the ammonia in the tank has risen, but don't panic the meds protect them from it, been there.

The pH hasn't changed at all since I told you yesterday. Do you want me to do a gravel vac and 15% water change right now? or are you telling me that for after I have given her the full five days of meds? Also I don't know how to test for ammonia,nitrite,nitrate. How do you do it? I only have a test kit for the pH but I can go get the stuff that I need to test the others asap. How is this columanaris stuff spread? Is it by the water or do the fish actually have to touch? The ten gallon I have her in is divided half and half I had another fish in the other side (before I knew my females had this stuff) a male betta preping him for breeding, him and the female I am treating now did come into contact when I put her and him in the spawning tank. He seems fine and he is back in his original bowl. Should I treat him for the same stuff or just leave him alone? Thanks so much.

Take a sample of your water to the lfs and tell them to write the readings down for you, even better if you can buy liquid test kits of your own.
Columnaris is in the water, and if a fish is stressed it will come down with it.

Okay, will do thanks again. I have a friend who has a betta with popeye, can that kill the fish? She says she has been adding melafix to the tank to try and treat it but it dosn't seem to be going down. What should she do? Thanks again

Yes as its related to dropsy because of the build up of fluids, so i would get a med in fast.
