I love Platys because both male and female are colourful!! Not just the male like guppies.

I have females that have beautiful tails also! Of course they aren't long and wide like the males, but they have some pretty color!

(Yes i know how to sex guppies...i'm not mistaking a male for a female ok i tried to attatch a pic of one of'em but it was too big and it wouldn't upload! She has black, orange, and yellow in her tail.)

i like guppies but don't have any as i keep siamese fighters
i also keep swordtails and platys
i like swordtails and i dotn know what people find so great platys
mine are boring all they do is swim backwards and forwards at the front of the tank looking for food!!!!!

I voted platy or specifically variatus. I love variatus since they are bright colored than the southern platy.
Althrough I owned all species of popular livebearers, variatus won my heart for their striking colors, especially the highfin strains.
