Most Pieceful Community Setup You Can Think Of?

Who was that? Was it by reputation that they were avoiding the red eyes (misinformation?) or was it by personal experience? Nippiness, whether within the shoal only or extended beyond is still nippiness to me. Tiger barbs go beyond the "nippy" label and are just mean. :D
I've had nippy red eyes myself, but it stayed within the shoal.

My buenos aires were actually worse than my tiger barbs. Their fins were almost always torn up from picking on each other, and they would never leave other fish alone either.

Hmmm... I didn't realize red eyes were nippy. I've never kept them myself. I just don't like the look of them.

You could look into Rummynose Rasbora, Celestial Pearl Danio and ottos. Cardinals and neons and embers are lovely tetra too, I have them also. My tank is a very peaceful place with no big fish other than the bristlenose plecs which are also peaceful!

I have a group of 6 Red Eyes, and they have been absolutely fine! No nippyness what so ever. And i really like them! :)

Its normal. They are very placid.

a group of cherry barbs looks great against a planted tank, just make sure you get nice bright red males. the femlaes are nice in their own way, but lack the visual impact of a school of bright red fish. nice and small and totally harmless.

Good call on the Cherry Barbs. I have 3 bright red males with 2 females.

He could get 6 Otocinclus Cats, they only get around 1.25 inches long. I have Otos & Corys together & they get along fine. The Otos like amazon swords and similar plants to suck on. Corries love sandy substrate.

Khuli loaches are a great addition to any tank and peaceful beyond belief, these guys make cory's look like thugs (I adore my cory's but they can be a bit like bulldozers and as subtle as a slege hammer when it comes to eating), true khuli's will hide a lot of the time but the more of them there is with plenty of plants the more you will see them. Otocinclus too are a nice peaceful no bother to anybody else fish.
I tend to stick to the peaceful fish that I find are safe to keep with my shrimp and cory's.
