Most Expensive Hobby’s Besides Fish Keeping?

Havent read the others but to be serious- Art. Paintings sell for over a 100 million these days dont they? Even Banksy made yesterday are millions.
If your Bill Gates or Jeff Bezos..wives can be in the billions...

I do small bore (.22 Cali Rd) and full bore (7.62/.308) target rifle. Very expensive at the start. My fulll bore rifle cost £1500 and the scope the same. Rounds are about £1 a pop. I have to travel to Bisley near Guildford to shoot it. Small bore less expensive and the club is nearer home. This is purely shooting at targets to demonstrate accuracy. No animals harmed! My main cost now is club fees and ammo. I have had the same 22 rifle for 20 years and full bore for 10, so costs are minimal really.

I also dabble in astronomy so have a scope and eye pieces. Again, expensive to get set up new, but now I am, costs nothing and being doing it for 10 years or so.

Before getting back into the fishkeeping pastime almost 8 years ago now, I went into mad travelling mode.

Decided that since the body's ability to do stuff was declining I would go see the world....easiest and most leisurely way of doing that was small ship cruising. Thoroughly enjoyed a few years of longhaul cruises....the longest was 6 weeks with a week upfront in Singapore, cruising from there to Savona via Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, Oman, Yemen, Jordan, Suez Canal, Egypt, Malta and then Savona Italy. Also sailed from Valparaiso to Buenos Aires via Cape Horn & Falklands, have sailed Vietnam, Hong Kong, Mainland China, Japan, Caribbean, Panama & Mexico, Iceland & Norway. A great way to see the world, often pretty expensive (especially when cruising solo as I did).

I also shoot .22 LR, but mine was around $1,000+ amo.

The rifle it’s self was $400 (more because it was a left hand bolt model) and the scope I’ve mounted on it was an easy $600.

Golf… my husband is a hardcore golf lover.. plus my new fish keeping hobby we are so broke lol
