One question, you run the lights 24/7... why?

Just intrigued and would like to know if that benefits the shrimps at all, of course will benefit for the plants.

She lost the off switch.

I believe the notion is to promote plant growth. I start my own tomato and pepper plants and they do very well with 24/7 grow lights on them, they don't require a dark period. Some plants do. I would think that moss can grow constantly.

Thanks...They seem happy, that makes me happy lol

I have 3 tanks the lights run 24/7. This tank is this way because i want the moss/frogbit/duckweed & green algae on the glass to mass grow. (the Pep bn tank is the same, though no algae gets a chance to grow lol. And the ranchu tank because i need to buy a new timer lol)

D'oh! Wasn't even thinking about the benefits of having algae in those tanks... DUH!

Made me laugh

I did not even think of the algae either, pretty obvious now that I think of it, good idea to do that as shrimps eat a little algae too, but mostly for the benefit of the BN.

Tbh can't even see any algae at all on your pic, you hide that well.

the only algae is on the side glass....it was on front glass also, but i scraped it to take the pic, and the shrimp ate what came off lol

Who doesn't like a little fresh salad?
