Moss balls!!

Hi fellow fish-keepers! I purchased 3 moss balls today and I was just wondering if there is any special thing I have to do to take care of them...or do I just leave them there?

Other then roll them around once a month so they don't get flat spots they don't need much. Some people take them out and squeeze the water out but I'm not sure why.
