I am trying to get my tank looking more natural and slowly but surely get rid of the plastic stuff. I am doing this over a long period of time but today I put some driftwood and 1 moss ball in the tank replacing some of the cheesy decorations that were in this part of my tank. I have read a bunch of different things about the moss balls and most of it says that they like an 8.0 ph at the highest, my tank sits around 8.2 so I am hoping that the Moss ball will last. Does anyone see any issues with this ph level? I put a new 18w bulb in my 36 gallon tank so about .5 watts per gallon.

It'll be fine, moss balls are hard to kill, they're a type of algae.

Great, thanks for the reply! I need to do a bit more research but I was planning on adding a java fern and some amazon sword next but not sure how they will react to my current water and lighting conditions...

They'll be fine so long as the nutrients are there, they won't grow noticeably but they'll live.

Good to hear, I just dont want to spent the money on them if they will just die quickly. We have really hard water here with a high ph and without installing an RO system I am kinda stuck with that at the moment.
