Moss Ball

Is there a way to propogate moss balls. I ask because I would really like some but they are 15 dollars a piece at my lfs!

ive heard you just rip em apart, then they will grow from that

You can probably order them online cheaper.
I got them at aquariumgarden.com and they were 2.00 each with only 12.00 shipping. They were pretty good size too.
I have seen them on several sites and they have never been that high. They must be really proud of theirs to think they are worth that much!
Check around and see what you find. They seem to ship pretty well.

let them grow a little and then cut them into peices. Put them in a tank with a good flow rate and they will grow.

they grow really really slow though, ive read from a lot of sources that it only grows 1mm a year

Any idea on how best to keep them round? I have seperated mine, but didn't use scissors - I pulled bits off. Did it a while ago but they're not really round anymore

move them around the tank in a rolling motion about once a week this will help keep or make them round
