More on Classroom Tank

African dwarf frogs would be cool for kids too, they go all over the place and zoom up and down the sides of the tanks.

If it were me, I'd go into the oddball section of the forum and see if they can't give you some good ideas too, you'd get a really interesting mix in your tank, and kids love weird stuff (I know I do!)

Clown loaches grow very slowly, you could easily keep 3 small ones in a 55 for several years at least. Also get khulis and yoyos, pearl gouramis are great, dunno about the dwarf gouramis though... supposedly they are inherently weak, but you could try it. For livebearers I'd say some nice platies. And to top it off a rainbow shark (not as aggressive as RTBS) and a couple of nice black phantom tetras. That would look great, and the kids would love it I'm sure.

EDIT: Oops I forgot cories. How could I forget the cories, definitely DEFINITELY get some cories. :p

One thought real quick.... would keeping Mollies in a tank with loaches and cories be advisable? Don't Mollies require some salt in the tank..... and doesn't salt burn loaches and cory cats?

Mollies don't need salt, although it is beneficial. If you must keep them together, don't add salt because it will ahrm your loaches after a while.
