Hi,

about 3 weeks ago I got 3 bristle nose plecs which I put in my 3 ft tank with 7 cory (5 small & 2 larger). Never saw them at all for three days then one appeared (hiding under the bogwood) & he was the only one I saw for the first 10 days (she was still hiding).

I was getting worried by this point so moved all the objects in the tank (even moved lots of sand) & managed to find the second one. As the tank needed a good water change I removed all hiding places & 50% of the water. Still just 2 bnp (plecs not British nationalists). Two days later I found the third. I don't know where he was (but he has gone back there :( .

They don't seem to understand the rules of the game i.e. 2 hide & the 3rd seeks 'cause they all hide.

Is this normal for bnp? If so, how do the breed if the don't look for each other?

Mine did this for the first month or so that I had him. I wouldn't worry too much. Just be patient and they should come around.
