Right now I have a current stock of

20 neon tetra
6 Bolivian rams
4 opaline gouramis (3 female and 1 male)
4 red platies
And just 2 emerald corys can I add 4 more or am I going to be overstocked

I have a 55 gallon tank

the opalines get big, 4 of them is pushing it abit. if you do weekly changes and have a decent filter then i would say go for it, but no more after that.

that is a 55 gallon with gouramis. i think you'll be ok if its similar size

Well my opaline are about 2 inches big and ive had them for about a year already and they look the same ive heard they get about 4 in I might just not get corys and give the ones I have away my filter is an aquaclear and I do water changes every Sunday

The dimensions for my 55 is 48x13x21

you could get smaller cories if you must have cories.

Corys arent a must for me just want to give the 2 that I have some more buddies

Get another 4 cories, it wont make much of a difference in terms of swimming room since they're at the bottom, and won't compete for space with your other fish.

Neither will it have a huge impact on your bioload. If you find you are getting more ammonia/nitrite, then upgrade/add another filter and do bigger water changes.

If you only have an aquaclear 50 on your tank I would recommend buying another aquaclear. I would get a second filter over upgrading, that way you have better flow throughout the aquarium since HOBs don't really give a lot of current.

I have an aquaclear for a 70 gallon tank and I do every Sunday a 50% water change

Adding the cories should be fine. Each of us must judge how big and how often we are willing to a water change. If you add those cories it may be necessary to do a slightly more frequent of slightly bigger water change, but you are close enough to "goodness" with your stocking that things should do fine for you.

goodness?

I think your stock sounds just about full if you added 4 more Corys. :good:

If you'd rather rehome the 2 Emeralds & add 6 of something smaller that would probably be better.

might just rehome the other 2 and keep my stock the way it is im not necessarily in need for corys

To each his own. :)

I like Corys because they clean the bottom of any leftover food but the best part is their antics.
