Ok, well, I returned my guppies. I just can't handle them, and they were giving me white hair. I cryed when I saw the lfs workers plop them in the guppy tank, but I know it was for the best. I can't deal with them dying all the time, and the two I had left were beating eachother up badly. So, I had 4 bucks in store credit, and, lo and behold, that is exactly what bettas at this store cost. So, I picked up another one, and bought a 10 gallon divider. Divided the tank with my spare craft canvas and killed the current in the 10 gallon. My new boy is floating as we speak, I named him reeses pieces, reese for short, because eventually he will be sharing the divided tank with skittles. And skittles and reeses pieces are my favorite candies, lol. :p So reese has kind of a brownish body with red and blue fins. He was one of the only bettas left, (they get more fish in on thursdays and were picked over) and I chose him because he has a heart of gold. The top of his cup was completely covered in bubblenest. What a cutie, to be forced to live in one inch of water, and still have the ambition to bubblenest. no one was sick or injured, so I went for him.

edited because I forgot to finish a sentance...

Poor guy, I just went up to check on him and he was getting his tail stuck to the filter intake. Over and over again. Obviously distressed. And even though I 'killed the current,' he was beig blown around. So, I put the cup he came in under the water, poor guy swam right into it, eagerly and I swapped him into the other side. He is a lot happier now, and I am hesitant to put a betta in the other section until I can fix something better up.

lol reeses pieces, I love it :p

good luck with your new betta
