Hi , My daughter has a black moores in trouble, unable to keep upright and swimming upside down it seems to have air bubbles in its poo any ideas? I keep tropicals myself and have meds available if need be.

Thanks in advance Ian

Hi Ian, fancy goldfish are very prone to swim bladder and buoyancy problems,
try adding a small dose of aquarium salt and see if the moor will eat a cooked shelled pea, this will help with the fishs digestion.

Are you currently simply feeding the moor flake food? if you are it would be better to change to a sinking pellet, this will not only reduce the waste produced in the tank but also prevent the moor from gulping down air as it eats the floating flakes. Dry flakes also cause fancy goldfish digestion problems,
Also make sure that the moor is getting regular green foods, this can be anything from aquarium plants to the weekly pea or slice of cucumber. This will all help to keep the fish as healthy as possible.

Thxs Davo for such a quick reply i will put all your suggestions in place and do our best to save him/her

Ian

:hyper: never heard of giving them cucumber I give my fancies shelled peas what else can I give them green?

if the fish can swim normally before, then normally the fish is get cold, u can move it out in a very shallow tank where can get a lot sunshine, because the water is so shallow, the fish have to swim normally. Meanwhile, they like a lot sunshine and green water, i once cured a few fish in this way
