Hi,

I recently purchased a blue LED lighting system from IKEA called 'TRETTIOEN' for about £20. It comes with a 12v transformer and four bars of 12 LEDs which can either be joined up in a continous bar or run as seperate units. The LEDs themselves are similar to the kind you get in mobile phones.

I'm running just one of these bars in my hood for a couple of hours after lights out, and the effect is great! Not too bright and a nice shade of deep blue.

Might not be the cheapest Moonlight solution, but it was an impulse buy

The LEDs are inside a plastic bar and I've sealed the ends with silicone just in case. Seem to be okay for condensation - I wouldn't emerse them in water deliberately though. Fortunately my tank hood has a sealed section for the tubes so I've put one in there.

Here you go, there is a pic in that thread. Just used one LED bar that came with the set, the rest are 'accenting' the livingroom
