Moonlights. Did You Buy Them?

I'm intregued.... are there any benefits to have moonlights?? or is it just aesthetic??

For FW, mostly aesthetic, since I can watch my L-046 zebra plecos more, since they're more active under these conditions. Most plecos and other fish are more active under very low lights.

I'm thinking of installing one for my Mudskipper Tank.

i have 6 leds fitted in my tank, under the splash plate as they arent submersible just splash proof so stuck them in there to be safe. also means i can route the wires with the wires from the day lights. cost just over £10 and have an ac adapter with a switch to reduce or increase the voltage in stages, so u can have them as dull or bright as you want

Where di you get it from please?

I just received my moonlight and i love it. I recommend for anyone who has nocturnal fish, or who just wants a pretty tank.

hahaha

I did actually mean moonlights as in lighting for the tank...........I've phoned all over the place but cannot find anything.

Might have to arrange something with an electrician................damn that will be costly........

I have Marina's 6 watt micro LED lights on my 10 gallon. I got them on either Petco.com or Petsmart.com I can't remember which. They are easily plugged in an outlet and have an on/off switch. You can submerge them or put them outside of the tank. If you get the hub, you can have three separate lights, which come in white, blue, green, and red. I have the blue.

Have a read through my Pinned thread in the DIY section...

On the cheap you can use an old mobile phone charger (something around 6V) and then a cold cathode kit from ebay

Blimey... they aren't that popular in Oz...
and a little more expensive too - they are about £4 over here - that one is $21 - which is about £9...

You could do it yourself with parts from Radioshack or other electronics store. The parts are cheap.

Check the journal link in my sig, just fitted moonlights - cost me approx £10 all in
