Moody's Aqua Cube Journal.

themuleous and jimboo have got it right.

This was my first attempt at the aqau cube, i used ADA products and didnt do it properly so was swomped wiht algea.

Here is some close-ups of the seamless glass.

And here it is tonight.

Even though its a tad expensive, it still looks chuffing great, when Im rich Ill def get one, perhaps two, for either side of my computer screen!

-_- :look: proberbly not but i like to bend the rules a little, as ive seid the glass is seemless so its just down to me to be carfull when doing water changes.

pc and tanks are ok (tanks with hoods)
If your gonna keep a betta in that without a lid, i would strongly recommend you dont fill it up to the brim as in some of those pics!!

An up date.
The first attempt at my DIY filter was unsuccessful, i had leaking coming out off my joints in the lid.
So today i have built a new DIY external filter and will show you all once the silicone has cured.

So some up date pics, here is my plan for the finished subject, i will probably look to add some sort of stemed plant to this plan but where i dont know yet.

The start of the building of the aqau scaping.
JBL aqua basis.

Normal pea gravel, would of liked to use something else but i have plenty lying around.

And this is it tonight.

6 cherry shrimp.
Christmas moss on the bog wood and on the mesh at the back of the tank.
Some hygrophilia sp and Ceratopteris cornuta (floating fern but mine grows from the substrate and the surface.

Theres no Co2 at the moment and no filtration, 5-6 hours of light and the plants are pearling.
:good:

Looks great mate! Where did u get your cherry reds from?

ohh and whats the lighting unit...did it come with it?

And,,,,,,where did u get your little spatula thingymajig from...i love it!

Chris

Lovely little tank, personally i'd rather pay £120 and get a nice 4ft setup, and go build my own little cube, it'd be of lesser quality but it would only be 10% of the price! Would be great if you have the money though... :good:
Regards,
Neal

Luke e, it was probably the acrylic cube ( allot cheaper but i don't need to tell you what wouldn't be good about acrylic).

Craynard my mate the cherry shrimp came rom Cheshire water life, they had tiger shrimp there too, bit of humming and arring went on on the shop but i chose the cherry for the color interest in the cube.
The light comes with the cube but i changed the bulb to a stronger 20W high reflective bulb.
The spatula came with a long set of tweezers and long very sharp scissors in a leather zipped pouch, made by "fishvet", mine came from aqua essentials but they don't sell them any more

Oh and the mesh is stainless steal but i will keep my eye open for somthing similar but in plastic, but for now it is fine.

Right, nice one moody!

Do you know if they had crystal red shrimps in?

i can see from the pics of the full tank why these things are so expensive...the seamless joins are beautiful! Well worth the money!

Cool tank d00d!
