If my house ever stops falling to bits I plan to upgrade my fishtank and attempt a more concerted effort at growing plants. I think a lo-tech/low maintenance setup would suit me best. Not quite Walstad lo-tech but I would prefer not to use any pressurised co2 systems as the cost outweighs the benefit for me.
In which case, with carbon being the limiting factor, is there any point in using a drop checker or would the co2 levels be too low to register?

Thanks.

Without pressurised CO2 the levels wouldn't be enough to register on a drop checker otherwise they wouldn't work for people with pressurised CO2. :)

Okay, well that's one less piece of equipment I have to shell out for.
Thanks for answering.
