Money Gram And Western Union

i have found alot of the betta breeders in thailand want you to use west union or money gram to pay for fish.has anyone ever done this,i heard its not safe?to my understanding anyone who doesnt use paypal is dodgy.

do not use money gram or western union to pay for anything unless the seller sends the item first which i doubt they will do.
to send money to relatives/friends, it is ok.
they provide no protection whatsoever to buyers.
they even include this non-proctection on the payment forms.

you've always gotta look at forgein sellers with some suspician, iv had werid requests made regarding payment as well, but i always make sure my money is secure, theres no telling what kind of game their running, but most of the time sellers have been legit and friendly

there were some ebay scammers who made either $30000 or $300 000 (i can't remember which) by tricking people by using western union as a payment method

don't discriminate against all of western union. Western union wire transfer, which means that the money goes straight into the recipient's account, is dodgy.

I sel fish, BUt I don't do paypal. I take checks and money orders. If you send a money order, you get a slip of paper attached to it that you can get your money back if something happens. If its a check, you can get the funds back because if they cash it, you will know, and there are records of such transactions.

how do you get your money back if you pay by money order or cheque (not check)?
file a complaint with ebay (if you use ebay) and ebay gets part of the money.
or sue in court?

yeah ill steer clear of money gram etc..another question though when you order from over seas do you have to contact the transhipper in your country before you make the order or can you order it first and have it sent to them?

The transshipper usually contacts you upon receiving the fish, you just have it sent to them

I think it is SOOOOOOOO Cruel to fight bettas. That guy from Thailand needs to sell to owners that will care for bettas and definately not fight them. Whoever fights bettas I think are horrible people . Thats all I have to say
