I lucked out and found a money cowrie locally and put it in as an initial CUC member. He quickly acclimated to the tank after a slow drip method, and began zooming around the live rock. However, after the first night, he decided to hang out in the back of the tank, on the glass, right below the water level. Sometimes he sits there for awhile, sometimes he does laps, but he hasn't moved from that general area, day or night, for two days. It's annoying, because there's plenty of algae to eat, just not on the glass itself.

I'm wondering if maybe they're light-loving snails or tidal snails, and are trying to "come out." I also wonder if I should plunk him near some algae.

I'd leave it alone. It'll get your glass clean then move on, right now it has an easy meal - why should it move?

In a word, no. Don't worry about your Cowrie. :good: They tend to be hardy.

Remember that they also tend to be omnivorous; a big, soft treat like an anemone may be consumed.
