Ok guys, i had my tank going for about a year now. I don't know too much about fish. I got this black and white coloured molly from the pet shop about 3 weeks ago. The shop said she was pregnant. I didn't really take any notice. A mate came my sisters friend came round and said that my molly was almost reasdy to burst.
I moved her to my seperate 2ft tank. i would just like to know how much longer, how many babies she will have. I don't have a male with her. Plus there some kind of anil fin out aswell.
any help will be much needed

ok if she about to burst then she probably give brith over night some tiems son maybe today maybe next night. well i think she prbably have about 20 - 30 babies but in my experince the most i have had is 12 in one bunch cos mine get eaten over night a bit lol!! soz dnt get what ur one about at the end...... -_-

Any time now. I'm waiting for one of my female mollies to burst! You should give it a day or 2 if she is truly that large. Maybe a week at most. My molly's belly is the size of a nickle, not sure if she is having breeding problems but what ever it is she needs to do it fast  lol, I just want her to have them "im gonna let her have them inside of the large tank and then I'm gonna take them out and place them into the live bearer tank... I have several.. Keep her by herself and when she is done having the offspring take her out "make sure you have some type of food source ready for the baby's when they come out" Don't over feed them as well...

8) in my expierience they can have uo to 10-100 babies but like aernympha my babies get eaten over night.you could probably keep her in there for a while as long as it has enough room proper filteration and heating

i would put her in a breeeding tank right away! i went to the pet shop last night and god all female mollys and a female guppy that is ready to pop! i think shes giveing birth right now but i cant tell becousei use to have guppys and they gave birth but i for got what a baby tail looked like! i got all preg fish last night! and 1 of my mollys is about to pop also! ahhhhhhhhhhhh

lol, you're right I went ahead and witnessed her give birth over 45 times.. :) Yes I need to divide the offspring because that is more than what I had expected. Before she had 45 she had a good ammount in my giant aquarium. I'll just leave those in the aquarium cause it would be hard with a 160 gallon aquarium cause of all of the guppy fry that I leave in there... But yes you are right your suggestion was an excellent suggestion. Tomorrow I'll be doing the same thing with the female guppies and mollies... What kind of dissapoints me is that a long time ago "8" years ago I had these platties 1 male and 1 female. I never noticed any babies in the tank but I would notice her get really skinny at times and when she would puff up I wouldn't feed her "thinking I was gonna kill her" But I had tons of fish in the 15 gallon aquarium at the time and now I realized well I realized 6 years ago that the other fish were helping her eat her own babies. The babies when they come up she looks like she poops them out and they're curved and after a minute they straighten out. It was pretty interesting cause at times she would drop 5 in 8 seconds. But it was joyful. I witnessed my Black mollie with tons of white spots forget what kind of mollie that is but he got to one of my golden mollies so I'm a little worried... lol well I'm gonna make some more posts... :)

" I know that was directed towards matt " but your suggestion I think helped me more than it did matt :p

ok guys, my molly had her babbies over night. From what i can tell, she has up up to 30. Some around in hiding still. But sadly some are dead.
I have taken the female molly out. How long does it take for them to be full size?

Give it several months. You need to feed them right now " Crush up food " None of my mollies have died yet... Crush up some food for the babies! Make sure you're feeding them several times. I have feed mine several times in the past several hours, Every hour feed them little bits. You may think I'm over feeding them " none have died so far" they're active I think they're doing good...
